The Blekingegade Gang 2: The Hard Core depicts the gang’s activities in the 1980s, when their criminal operations expanded and intensified.

The climax came with the multi-million-kroner robbery of the post office on Købmagergade in central Copenhagen in 1988. Using material seized by the police from the gang’s safe house on Blekingegade, Peter Øvig Knudsen is able to reconstruct this spectacular heist minute by minute – right up to the fatal shooting of the young police officer Jesper Egtved Hansen.

Equally dramatic and harrowing is the account of what would have been the gang’s biggest heist, but which was called off at the last minute – the kidnapping of the Swedish billionaire’s son, Jörn Rausing, in Lund.
