Ett år som har varit ett av de konstigaste och tuffaste för några av oss, har nått sitt slut. Pandemin är fortfarande närvarande, och så är även förespråkandet av individualism och förtvivlan. Hopp, genom gemensam kamp och autonoma stödnätverk behövs nu mer än någonsin. Under tiden har sociala center, platser för DIY och andra delar av den autonoma rörelsen påverkats svårt, då vi är beroende av att samla personer på en specifik plats.

Dear Comrades and friends,
Α year that has been one of the strangest and toughest for some of us has ended. The pandemic is still here, and so is a time of promoted individualism and despair. Hope through collective action and self-organized networks of support are needed more than ever. Meanwhile, social centers, DIY spaces and other points of reference of the movement that rely a lot on people gathering and contributions have been severely affected.

Som bekant har vi ju skjutit firandet av vårt 40-årsjubileum på framtiden, men vi kände att det kanske ändå vore på sin plats med litet hedersmärke så inte covidglömskan helt och hållet förstör vår födelsedag. Dear comrades! As you already know, our anniversary bash has been postponed indefinitely, but we felt that the occasion warranted a small commemorative lapel pin so as not to surrender our b-day to the pandemic altogether. Allow us therefore to introduce to you our 40th anniversary enamel pin, still hot from the oven. Wear it with pride and you’ll not only support the revolution and your favorite book cafe – you’ll also look fabulous doing it.
To strengthen our struggling economy, you can buy the pin for either 100 crowns – which will be the standard price – or 500 crowns (if you really wanna support us and maybe have some gold bars tucked away somewhere or invested in Bitcoins before they were invented or something). Swing by the cafe to get the pin or order it from our online store!

Study circle ”Society without police”

Thanks to the Black Lives Matters movement the criticism against the police and the justice system in general has gotten more attention again lately. Even though this criticism is far from new it can be helpful to get a better understanding of which fundamental shortcomings our current justice system has and which alternatives have been formulated and explored. We want to invite everybody to our study circle with the title ”Society without police”. No prior knowledge needed, we will learn together and from each other!

The 3rd meeting will be on Tuesday the 1st of December, and the 4th meeting on Tuesday the 15th of December. We will meet at Syndikalistiskt Forum between 18:00 – 20:00 or online, and discuss different texts and our thoughts. You are welcome to join even if you missed the previous meetings.

The third meeting will touch upon the concepts of transformative and restorative justice, and reconciliation processes.

Due to that our room is small it is important that you regard your health when you visit us. If you are healthy you are more than welcome, however if you feel unwell – with any symptom – we ask you to stay at home. This is to to prevent the spread of infections. We reserve the right to send home visitors that are ill. Take care of yourself and remember to wash your hands. Also take care of each other the best way that you can! Don’t stock, try not to panic, support those who are ill and the elderly as good as you can.
This too shall pass. The struggle continues!

Ny webbsida! / New website!

Kära kamrater! Som ni kan se har vi nu lanserad vår nya hemsida och webshop. Vår gamla trotjänare avtackas efter lång och trogen tjänst och läggs till handlingarna. Till dess att kommande generationers kamrater kan beskåda vår rörelses historia på något slags enormt Revolutionsmuseum – och där givetvis kunna avnjuta vår gamla hemsida i all sin buggiga prakt – tror vi att både vi, ni och alla däremellan har mer nytta av en sida som faktiskt funkar. Det har tagit oräkneliga timmar av hårt slit och slitet hår, men nu är den klar! Vi kommer kontinuerligt att hålla både hemsidan och våra sociala medier uppdaterade kring vintern och vårens program så fortsätt att hålla utkik, men redan nu kan ni kolla in webshopen.
Pandemin har kraftigt påverkat vår verksamhet under året som varit och gått hårt åt vår ekonomi i och med färre evenemang och därmed färre besökare i bokkaféet. Nu formligen dignar våra hyllor av oläst uppviglan, himlastormande poesi och pinfärsk teori så skarp att en kan raka sig med den. Har du en slant över och en ny värld i ditt hjärta? Köp en bok av oss! I fyrtio år av med- och motgångar och har vi kämpat för klasskamp, feminism och folkbildning och tänker inte sluta förrän vi blivit överflödiga – men nu behöver vi er hjälp. Sprid ordet, putsa läsglasögonen och håll ut – vi kämpar tillsammans, alltid och i alla väder. Avanti!

Dear comrades! As you can see we have now launched our new website and shop at syndikalistisktforum.se and retire our old one after many years of faithful service. Until future generations can marvel at our movement’s history in a truly grandiose Museum of the Revolution – and revisit our old site in all its buggy glory for nostalgic reasons – we feel that everyone would be better off with a site that actually works. After countless hours of hard work, that site is finally done! We will keep you posted about our winter and spring plans both on our new site and on our social media so stay tuned, but our new and improved online store is live as of right now.
The pandemic has had a substantial impact on our programme and our economy over the course of the year as fewer events mean fewer visitors to the cafe – our shelves are therefore practically brimming with unread masterpieces of unread rage, subversive poetry and theory sharp as a razor! Got some money to spend and dreams of a more beautiful tomorrow? Buy a book from us! We’ve struggled through forty rocky years for class war, feminism and popular education and refuse to quit until we’re obsolete – now we need your help.
