Fredag 18:00 RADIKAL BOKMÄSSA 2025 – Författarsamtal: Aslı Ceren Aslan

Aslı Ceren Aslan was born in 1990 in Istanbul and graduated from Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Department of Mathematics in 2014. Between 2014 and 2021, she worked as a journalist, editor and chief editor at Yeni Demokrat Kadın magazine and Özgür Gelecek newspaper. She was imprisoned in Urfa Closed Prison No 2 from 2017 to 2019. Due to her journalistic activities, Aslan received a grant from GeoAIR, an artist organisation based in Georgia, to research LGBTQ communities and gender inequality in the region. During 2021-2022, she lived in Tbilisi and wrote numerous articles and reports on these issues. From 2022 to 2024, she was admitted to ICORN (International Cities of Refuge Network), an organisation for journalists, writers and artists under political threat, thus becoming a refuge writer for Växjö.

Aslan’s narrative book ‘Birbirimizin Çaresiyiz’ about how Turkish politics affects the lives of women and LGBTI people was published by SRC Publishing in Turkey and in Swedish translation ‘Bara vi själva kan rädda varandra’ by Trolltrumma Publishing in Sweden in November 2023.

Aslan currently lives in Växjö. She participates as a speaker in panels, seminars and conferences on freedom of thought, freedom of expression and freedom of the press. She also continues to organise workshops for LGBTI+ and women and teaches Turkish at Folkuniversitetet.

Boksamtal: Stone Butch Blues (Fredag, kl 19)



Stone Butch Blues, Leslie Feinbergs skönlitterära verk från 1993, är en queer kommunistisk klassiker om genus och dess komplexitet. Boken behandlar frågor om facklig kamp, sociala rörelser och queera liv i USA på 1960-, 70- och 80-talen. Feinberg var först med att använda den marxistiska begreppen ”transgender liberation”, och dens verk har påverkat såväl popkultur som akedemisk forskning och politisk organisering. Nu översätts Stone Butch Blues äntligen till svenska och kommer ut på Dockhaveri förlag i höst!

Bokens översättare kommer till Radikal Bokmässan på fredag för samtal och högläsning av några utvalda delar.

Book talk: Stone Butch Blues (Friday 19.00)

This talk will be held in Swedish.


Stone Butch Blues, Leslie Feinberg’s 1993 novel, is a queer communist groundbreaking classic about the complexities of gender. Feinberg was the first theorist to advance a Marxist concept of “transgender liberation”, and hir work has impacted popular culture, academic research, and political organizing. This fall, Stone Butch Blues is finally coming out in a Swedish translation!


The book’s translator is coming to the Radical Bookfair on Friday for a conversation and readings of selected passages.

Boksamtal med Fredrika Spindler: Vad är filosofi (Torsdag, kl 18)

Under våren 2024 publicerades den svenska översättning Vad är filosofi? skriven av filosofen Gilles Deleuze och (anti-)psykoanalytikern Félix Guattari. Boken utgör kulmen på samarbetet mellan dessa två, och är inte bara en pedagogisk analys och förklaring av vad begreppsligt tänkande innebär, utan också en kraftfull uppmaning att skapa nya begrepp; att skapa ett filosofiskt tänkande för samtiden och framtiden.

Tillsammans med Fredrika Spindler – som har skrivit förordet och översatt – så utforskar vi boken, Deleuzes och Guttaris tänkande, och deras betydelse för samtida politiska rörelser. Vad är betydelsen av det inre och yttre? Vilken betyder har kaos och ordning för tänkande? Vad betyder Deleuze och Guttari för post-68 vänstern? Vilka lärdomar kan vi göra idag? Och slutligen, hur undkommer vi Ansiktet?

Book conversation with Fredrika Spindler: What is Philosophy (Thursday, 18:00)

The conversation will be held in Swedish.

In the spring of 2024, the Swedish translation ”What is Philosophy?” written by philosopher Gilles Deleuze and (anti-)psychoanalyst Félix Guattari was published. The book represents the culmination of the collaboration between these two and is not only a pedagogical analysis and explanation of what conceptual thinking entails, but also a powerful call to create new concepts; to develop a philosophical thinking for the present and the future.

Together with Fredrika Spindler – who has written the foreword and translated the text – we explore the book, Deleuze’s and Guattari’s thinking, and their significance for contemporary political movements. What is the significance of the inner and outer? What do chaos and order mean for thinking? What do Deleuze and Guattari mean for the post-68 left? What lessons can we learn today? And finally, how do we escape the Face?

Situationism & Automation – a conversation 3/4

With and Against:the Situationist International in the Age of Automation

The situationist wave cannot be stopped, the masses are screaming for a revolution of everyday life. Syndicalist Forum invites Dominique Routhier to present his book With and Against: the Situationist International in the Age of Automation. Dominique is a post-doctoral researcher at University of Southern Denmark., and the book performs a recontextualization of the Situationist International’s activities based on the emergence of a cybernetic societal system. After the presentation of the book, Dominique and a member from the radical avant-garde Svarta Räkan will discuss the book further, but the conversation will also focus on situationist practice.

About the book: The little-known story of the Situationist International’s struggle against the automation of everyday life

No other art movement has so profoundly influenced radical politics as the Situationist International. But beyond the clichés about its purported leader Guy Debord, the ”society of the spectacle,” détournement and dérive, lies a more complex story about key historical shifts in the composition of capital, work, labor, art, and revolutionary theory during the 1950s and 60s.

With and Against reframes the history of the Situationist International as a struggle to come to terms with the then-emerging ideologies of cybernetics and automation. Through each of the book’s four chapters, Dominique Routhier dissects Situationist pamphlets, documents, artworks, and objects that refract elements of a ”cybernetic hypothesis”: the theoretically hyperbolic belief that technological progress, computers and automation make class struggle and the idea of revolution obsolete.

With equal attention to aesthetic detail and to the broader contours of political economy, this book serves as a critical intervention in art history as well a call to reconsider, more broadly, the contemporary lessons of the most political of all artistic avantgardes.
